The Project 20385 corvette "Gremyashchiy" of the Pacific Fleet practiced firing a rocket-torpedo at a simulated enemy submarine during exercises. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
In the first stage of the exercises, the corvette left its base to search for a simulated enemy submarine, which was represented by one of the diesel submarines.
According to the exercise scenario, the underwater target refused to comply with the requirement to surface. It was then attacked with a rocket-torpedo from the "Paket-NK" complex. A deck-based anti-submarine helicopter Ka-27PL was involved in completing the task.
Recall that "Gremyashchiy" was built at "Severnaya Verf" (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation). The St. Andrew's flag was raised on the corvette in December 2020.
The ship's updated launcher allows the use of not only "Onyx" and "Kalibr" cruise missiles, but also hypersonic "Tsirkon" missiles.
