Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced free parking for the May holidays in the "Max" messenger. Fees will be completely canceled on May 1, 2, 9, and 11 – including on streets with tariffs of 380, 450, and 600 rubles per hour and in dynamic tariff zones.
Additionally, on May 3 and 10, parking will be free on all streets, except for zones with dynamic pricing and tariffs starting from 380 rubles per hour. Barrier-controlled parking lots will operate as usual on all days.
The decision exempts drivers from fees even in the most expensive parking zone of the capital, where an hour of parking on a weekday is comparable to the price of lunch in a cafe. The practice of zeroing out tariffs on holidays is regularly applied in Moscow and is synchronized with the holiday calendar, which this year will last six days – from May 1 to May 3 and from May 9 to May 11.
