The most labor-intensive repair: the icebreaker "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" launched from the slipway in Arkhangelsk

The Project 1191 vessel was repainted in the colors of the Russian flag

The icebreaker "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" (Project 1191) was launched from the slipway after dry dock repair at the Arkhangelsk Repair and Operation Base (REB) of the fleet. The work has been carried out since August 2025, the company's press service reported.

Previously, only tugboats and dry cargo ships were repaired here. To fulfill the order for the restoration of the icebreaker, it was necessary to modernize the equipment.

The most labor-intensive was the repair of the "Avraamiy Zavenyagin" propeller-rudder complex. To balance the icebreaker's propellers, a new balancer was manufactured at the Arkhangelsk REB of the fleet.

Working with propeller shafts up to 10 tons also prompted an increase in the lifting capacity of lifting devices in the workshops.

After debugging the propulsion units, the Arkhangelsk shipbuilders cleaned the vessel's hull and painted it in the colors of the Russian flag. Soon the vessel will be sent for sea trials, and then transferred to the owner - FSUE "Rosmorport".
