With a multi-channel gunner's sight and thermal imager: modernized T-72BM2 tanks entered the Armed Forces of Belarus

Combat vehicles were improved at one of the enterprises of the State Authority for Military Industry of the Republic

A batch of modernized T-72BM2 tanks has been sent to the Belarusian troops. The design of the combat vehicles integrated the most effective solutions to improve their tactical and technical characteristics. This was reported by the press service of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus.

Work on the T-72BM2 was carried out by engineers from one of the enterprises of the State Authority for Military Industry. The commander of a separate guards mechanized brigade, Colonel Vadim Ilnitsky, stated that these tanks meet the requirements of modern combat.

Combat vehicles are equipped with new fire control systems, new radio stations, as well as an enhanced engine that allows to increase the tank's speed.

What has changed in the T-72BM2:

  • a multi-channel gunner's sight has been installed
  • a weapon control mode from the tank commander's position has been implemented
  • the combat vehicle is equipped with thermal imaging devices, dynamic protection, and anti-cumulative screens of Belarusian design
  • an autonomous power supply unit has been installed

The T-72BM2 was presented at the XII International Exhibition of Arms and Military Equipment MILEX-2025 in Minsk. According to the information on the stand, the tank received a duplicate gunner's sight 1A40-1, as well as day (TNPO-160) and night observation devices (TKN-N).
