The presence of new and modernized combat equipment in the theater of operations is steadily growing, Rostec State Corporation said in an interview with TASS dedicated to the World Defense Show 2026 in Saudi Arabia. Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Armaments Cluster and member of the Bureau of the Union of Mechanical Engineers, stressed that Russian tanks will not run out, despite claims by foreign media.
Ozdoev noted that the T-90M "Proryv", T-72B3M and T-80BVM are actively used on the front line. "Uralvagonzavod" has significantly increased the production of tanks, while the vehicles are constantly being modernized taking into account combat experience. Their survivability has been increased, combat capabilities have been expanded, and the evacuation and repair system allows for quick return of equipment to service.
In the interview, Ozdoev emphasized that Western politicians and foreign media had repeatedly claimed a shortage of modern tanks, but this is not true.
Tanks of the T-72 and T-90 families form the basis of the armored forces of Russia. The T-90M "Proryv" is a modernized version of the T-90 with a new turret and a more powerful engine. The vehicle is equipped with a multi-channel sight that allows firing at any time of the day, and a real-time data exchange system with other tanks. Modernization increases the effectiveness of actions on the front line and speeds up coordination with other units.
