According to him, discussions of a possible purchase began after the sultan's visit to Russia in 2025.
Latypov noted that Ibrahim is known for his interest in machinery and holds licenses to operate various types of transport.
A visit to the NAMI institute in Moscow, where the automobiles are produced, was organized for him.
According to the diplomat, the sultan was considering the possibility of acquiring such vehicles for use in Malaysia.
Recall that the Aurus project has been developed since 2013 by order of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Serial production of the automobiles has been underway since 2021 at the plant in Yelabuga.
