Russia plans to simplify ship registration. The Ministry of Transport proposes to exclude machine logs, permission for a ship radio station, and a sanitary certificate of the right to sail from the list of documents subject to mandatory state registration.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev at a plenary session in the State Duma, the changes will affect the Merchant Shipping Code and the Inland Water Transport Code. These documents will no longer be subject to state registration.
At the same time, he stressed that the types of control themselves remain.
This does not mean that these types of control will be excluded. No. But nevertheless, we are simplifying the procedure for state registration, obtaining the Russian flag.
According to TASS, the Ministry of Transport has prepared a draft federal law that amends the current regulations. The main goal is to simplify the process of registering sea vessels, inland water transport vessels and mixed navigation vessels "river-sea".
A separate emphasis is placed on increasing the number of ships under the Russian flag, including in domestic water transport.
The draft law will provide sailors with the opportunity to obtain a document containing information about their work on board, as part of a seaman's book, which will become a single document.
