The State Duma is preparing amendments that could put an end to the use of "resurrected" politicians for campaigning. The committee has already recommended the document for the second reading.
The essence is simple: they want to prohibit the use of the voice and images of deceased or fictional people in campaign materials, including those created using neural networks.
If the rule is adopted, the LDPR will no longer be able to use the "digital" Zhirinovsky - neither his synthesized voice, nor any AI versions of the image.
Things are also getting tougher for the living: now you will need written consent to use a face or voice, and only from a citizen without restrictions on electoral rights.
The bill has already passed the first reading - it was supported by all factions except the CPRF.
In fact, we are talking about a new stage of regulation: neural networks remain in politics, but they want to prohibit "reviving" the dead with the help of AI and using them in campaigning.
