Former AvtoVAZ engineer, blogger KhaDm, discovered a rare VAZ-21106 in one of the garage construction cooperatives, complete with the original first-generation body kit. According to him, the car was produced with this body kit since 1997.
However, the find stumped the blogger: the 2003 car is equipped with a two-liter Opel engine with 136 horsepower.
Cars with the first-generation body kit were supposedly produced until 1999, and they all had 150 hp Opel engines. The detuned engine only appeared in 2002.
Despite the strange combination of the year of manufacture and the engine, the car remains incredibly rare. From 1997 to 2007, only about 300 copies of the VAZ-21106 were produced.
