KB Smirnova has completed a unique project to restore and refine a limited-edition Volga 3111 from 2001. The car, named "Crocodile Hunter," was created by order of a collector who wanted to combine the era of chrome luxury of the 21st Volga and the sophisticated interior trim in the best traditions of the premium class in one car.
In the car, one can see not only references to the classic "twenty-first" Volga, but also a certain Russian cultural code.
Volga 3111 is a rare exhibit. Only about 400 units of exclusively hand-assembled cars were produced from 1998 to 2004. Most of the parts are unique, so it is almost impossible to find a car in 100% configuration.
During the work, the specialists of KB completely rethought the interior. The interior is finished with snow-white crocodile leather with a border of the standard GAZ ruby color. This color scheme was played up in the polite illumination of the instruments and interior elements. The carpet was replaced with natural leather with artistic stitching, carpets made of natural sheepskin and a cover in the trunk were made. In addition, the interior was inlaid with factory emblems of ZIM-12 and GAZ-21 Volga. The plastic "wood-like" trim was completely restored, and all metal niches in the trunk were closed using specially made molds.
The technical part also received serious improvements. Instead of the standard drum mechanisms, rear disc brakes were installed, and Brembo mechanisms with the Volga symbol and manual perforation of the discs were installed in the front. Due to the increased calipers, it was necessary to install 18-inch alloy wheels, which were also decorated with ruby emblems.
Technical characteristics: length - 4897 mm, width - 1840 mm, height - 1472 mm, weight - 1560 kg. Engine - gasoline, volume 2.5 l, power 136 hp Maximum speed - 180 km/h, ground clearance - 155 mm.
