The First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Tatyana Butskaya, proposed giving children's SIM cards a new function: free access to educational resources in a white list mode. According to her, this format will maintain access to educational sites even in the event of Internet outages, TASS reported.
Butskaya proposed including up to 100 films recommended by the Ministry of Culture in the white list and opening them without charging. Currently, a children's SIM card only allows parents to restrict unwanted content, but does not create a separate safe environment for the child.
The deputy insists that we need to work "not with prohibitions, but with support." If educational content becomes free and guaranteed to be available, the children's card will turn from a tool of restrictions into a full-fledged educational tool, and its value for families will increase dramatically.
