Su-30SM multirole fighters destroyed mock enemy ships with S-8 missiles

Pilots of the 4+ generation Su-30SM multirole fighters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation used onboard weapons during combat training missions in the Kaliningrad region. This was reported by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.

The Su-30SM crews detected the ground situation and carried out targeted bombing of targets with P-50T bombs. The fighters also attacked targets from aircraft guns.

The pilots practiced maneuvering while approaching targets to avoid the influence of enemy electronic warfare equipment. In addition, they launched strikes against enemy ships with S-8 unguided missiles in the Baltic Sea.

The Soviet 80 mm aircraft projectile is designed to destroy military equipment and enemy manpower from the air. It was developed at OKB-16 and the Novosibirsk Institute of Applied Physics. The effective launch range of the S-8 is 2000 m. The missile can be carried by fighters and attack helicopters in service with the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Navy.
