The second PR-30/35 turbine of the Seversk CHP has passed the first sea trials

Energy workers checked the generator for turning gear operation

The Seversk CHP has successfully completed the turning gear tests of the second new PR-30/35 turbine unit. The work was carried out by "Rosatom Infrastructure Solutions" as part of a large-scale modernization of the station.

The turbine and generator rotors began to rotate synchronously, without vibrations or extraneous noise. Engineers checked the alignment of the shafts, the accuracy of the centering and the quality of the assembly. The results confirmed that the equipment is ready for the next stage — commissioning.

The novelty has received a modern electromechanical drive of the turning gear device with remote control. The system automatically controls the cooling of the rotor after stopping, eliminating manual control by the operator. This is the first implementation of such automation in Russia at a thermal power plant.

At the same time, the commissioning of the first turbine unit continues at the station. It has already passed idle tests and is now preparing for relay protection testing in short circuit simulation mode.

The final chord of the modernization will be comprehensive tests of both units. In agreement with the System Operator of the UES, the turbogenerators with all auxiliary equipment will work for 72 hours under load. 8 hours of this time, the station must deliver the maximum total power to the grid. After that, the updated equipment will be put into commercial operation.
