In Russia, most users search for information through Yandex. It already accounts for seven out of ten of all search queries in the country, said Dmitry Masyuk, head of the Yandex search technology and AI business group.
According to Masyuk, the company has reached a "psychological mark" - about 70% of all user requests in Russia. The remaining 30% are accounted for by Google search.
Masyuk noted that the result was influenced by thematic searches, object answers and Alice AI technologies.
Yandex also emphasized that there are no other countries in the world where a local search engine would outperform Google with free user choice.
Russia is the only country.
