The military-industrial holding company "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ) supplies government agencies with boats of various modifications. In March, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations received 2 PK-500 boats, 6 RPK-640 boats, and 7 650-K airboats.
The high-speed PK-500 boat combines a smooth ride with strong seaworthiness characteristics. The small craft was designed for operation on rivers and lakes. It has been assigned the highest safety rating.
The ideal ratio of length to width, combined with the hull lines, makes the boat maneuverable and stable.
The RPK-640 boat features a rigid hull and an enclosed wheelhouse. The vessel is intended for rapid response operations and patrol duties. It can be operated in inland waters and in coastal sea areas.
The 650-K airboats have an air cushion, allowing them to be used on ice, in shallow waters, on mountain rivers, and in swamps. The small craft will be useful for patrol missions and for transporting personnel to remote areas.
KMZ's press service emphasized that innovative materials were used in the production of the boats. They are equipped with powerful propulsion units and modern communication systems. The holding company's employees monitor boat production at every stage.
