A failure occurred in the Moscow Metro, due to which some passengers were unable to pay for their travel with bank cards. Terminals at turnstiles and in suburban trains began to work with interruptions.
In order not to create a crush and not to stop the flow of people, metro employees began to let passengers in for free.
According to station employees, the problem is related to a large-scale failure in banking systems. Previously, users massively complained about interruptions in the operation of Sberbank, VTB, T-Bank, and the Faster Payments System.
Later, the largest banks announced the restoration of services. The operation of terminals is gradually normalizing.
At the same time, as checks at individual stations and in ground transport showed, the payment system is already returning to normal - cards are accepted again, and terminals are working without failures.
