In Russia, they want to make it so that discounts and social bonuses are automatically credited if you pay for a purchase with a "Mir" card. The new mechanism was proposed by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.
According to the Ministry of Digital Development, benefits can be obtained directly when paying with a "Mir" bank card. For this, a special mechanism has been developed, which has already been submitted for public discussion.
Large families, pensioners, disabled people and students will be able to use the system. They will have access to preferential travel in urban and suburban transport, discounts in pharmacies and shops, as well as visits to museums, theaters and other cultural institutions.
For everything to work, you need to link the "Mir" card to your personal account on "Gosuslugi". After that, the system itself will activate the benefits due and will automatically update them when a person's status changes.
At the same time, data confidentiality is maintained: sellers will not see which category the buyer belongs to. The project, called "My Mir Card", is being implemented jointly with the Bank of Russia, JSC "NSPK" and other departments.
The experiment is planned to be carried out from July 1 to December 31, 2026 in at least three regions of Russia. If it is successful, the system may be scaled up to the whole country. The participation of regions, organizations and citizens will be voluntary.
