KakaoTalk on the Rise: Improved Interface Being Prepared for Russians

The messenger is not wasting time and is strengthening its position

The South Korean messenger KakaoTalk is preparing to upgrade the service for an international audience — the application will have expanded language support, including Russian. This became known to Kommersant.

The company itself confirmed that the number of users outside of South Korea is growing significantly, including due to Russians. They did not disclose specific figures, but made it clear that a course for global development has already been set.

Interest in KakaoTalk in Russia jumped sharply amid disruptions and restrictions in the operation of the Telegram messenger. The Korean application quickly broke into the top of the Russian App Store and took second place in downloads among social networks.

Now the messenger, apparently, intends to consolidate its success — through localization and adaptation to a new audience.
