"Soyuz" with "Progress MS-33" launched from Baikonur to the ISS with a cargo of 2500 kg

The ship was successfully launched into orbit

The launch of the «Soyuz-2.1a» launch vehicle with the «Progress MS-33» cargo ship took place from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The launch into orbit, separation from the third stage, deployment of antennas and solar panels went smoothly, Roscosmos reported.

The cargo ship will deliver more than 2,500 kilograms of cargo to the ISS: 828 kilograms of fuel for refueling the station, 420 kilograms of drinking water, 619 kilograms of containers with food rations for the crew, 393 kilograms of equipment for repair, maintenance and retrofitting, 135 kilograms of equipment for sanitary and hygienic needs, 52 kilograms of equipment for scientific experiments, 50 kilograms of oxygen to replenish the internal atmosphere of the ISS, as well as 12 kilograms of medical supplies, including loading suits to prevent the negative effects of weightlessness.

Earlier, before the launch at Baikonur, Roscosmos specialists completed the rolling of the head fairing, which protects the equipment of the cargo ship from a powerful oncoming air flow in the first minutes after launch.
