AI for Generating Jewelry Design with Yakut Ornamentation Is Being Created by the Arctic University of Arts

The "Yuvelir.AI" project is at the prototype refinement stage

The Arctic State University of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries in Yakutsk is developing the "Yuvelir.AI" project, an intelligent system for generating jewelry designs using traditional Yakut ornamentation. This was reported to TASS on March 20 by the university's rector, Sargylana Ignatyeva. In 2026, a pilot implementation of the software is planned at one of Yakutia's jewelry companies. The project is being carried out jointly with the National Library of Yakutia.

What "Yuvelir.AI" Can Do and How the System Works

The system optimizes the work of jewelry designers: it increases the speed and variety of creating new models and ensures the correct and compositionally sound use of traditional Yakut ornamentation. In 2026, the functionality is planned to be expanded to the generation of three-dimensional images, a transition from flat visualization to full-fledged 3D models ready for integration into the production cycle.

The project is integrated into the university's educational process: students participate in developing algorithms, build digital ornament databases, and master the use of AI in design.

The pilot will make it possible to test the system under real production conditions and obtain feedback from practicing designers and process engineers. After the pilot, the product is planned to be scaled to the markets of the Far East and the Arctic.

The project addresses a rare task: preserving traditional artistic codes through their digitization. AI-based design generation using digitized ornaments reduces dependence on the manual labor of designers while preserving the cultural authenticity of the products.
