The Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol has presented a project to protect the Tor anti-aircraft missile system from enemy drones. Engineers have integrated an electronic warfare system directly into the vehicle. It detects drone signals and jams their control channels.
The protection creates two modes of operation. The first option provides all-round defense. The system suppresses kamikaze drones at a distance of up to 500 meters. The entire space around the complex is under control.
The second mode fights reconnaissance aircraft at a distance of up to five kilometers. There is a block of directional antennas on the antenna of the guidance station. The equipment automatically targets the target and knocks down the signal.
Currently, calculations use smooth-bore weapons and hand-held detectors. The new system will replace these measures with more effective electronics. Another feature of the project is full integration into existing equipment.
