Unusual drifting footage performed by a T-80BVM tank modernized at the Omsktransmash plant has appeared online. This is a new vehicle with factory-installed dynamic turret armor and a "barbecue grill" with a corrugated top.
The tank's mechanic-driver demonstrated the maneuverability of the T-80BVM and made a sharp turn on the spot with a U-turn.
As a reminder, the T-80BVM is equipped with a 1100 hp gas turbine engine that accelerates the 42-ton vehicle to 65 km/h. The familiar 125-mm 2A46M-1 gun is responsible for fire damage.
Earlier, the Russian military began putting unusual protection on T-80BVM tanks, which was nicknamed "cap". It is a cocoon of steel sheets and grilles that covers almost the entire vehicle, but does not impair visibility for the crew.
Previously, front-line Kulibins came up with a revolutionary way to protect battle tanks. Now they are completely covered with sea containers.
