The "Skat" drone, developed by specialists at IAZ (part of the "Kalashnikov" Group), demonstrated high survivability in combat conditions. After a direct hit by an enemy FPV interceptor, the aircraft did not lose controllability or the ability to transmit video. The device landed in the gray zone, and all the damage was limited to burned-out batteries, the Telegram channel NerV reports.
Despite the fact that in this case the aircraft did not make it back to base, the overall survivability of the equipment has increased noticeably. There are many examples of "Skats" returning after repairs of varying complexity.
Sometimes the bird returns "on a wing and a prayer." Feedback from the crews often confirms this.
All aircraft have now been equipped with FPV countermeasure systems and irradiation warning systems. They make it possible to use evasive maneuvers and, combined with new high-speed modes, allow the aircraft to leave a dangerous area in a short time. Specialists at "Kalashnikov" are now continuing work on the development of these technologies.
