The list of cars that meet the requirements of the law on taxi localization will be expanded in the near future — the list initially provides for regular updates, the Ministry of Industry and Trade told Lenta.ru.
First of all, models are considered, the production of which is established at Russian facilities within the framework of special investment contracts with obligations for further deepening of localization.
The initial version of the list was published in advance so that market participants could plan purchases — in October 2025, it included more than 20 models of six Russian brands.
The law on taxi localization comes into force on March 1, 2026. Cars already included in the register will be able to continue operating regardless of compliance with the new requirements. The Kaliningrad region and the regions of Siberia received a deferral until March 1, 2028, the Far East — until March 1, 2030.
