Sevmash (Severodvinsk) specialists have developed a unique boring machine for processing hull structures on nuclear submarines. This was reported by the company's press service.
The machine was designed by specialists from the repair shop, and the documentation was prepared in the machine-building equipment bureau of the design department of the scientific and technological department. Parts for the equipment were prepared in the mechanical workshop.
Where the boring machine is used
Similar machines are used at Sevmash for processing holes directly on the submarine (fine boring, countersinking, reaming).
The new equipment, necessary to replace the outdated equipment with similar characteristics, was assembled on the basis of a 1k62 type lathe in order to reduce labor costs.
The resulting machine is characterized by efficiency and high precision in the manufacture of parts.
