New KamAZ-62825 trolleybuses equipped with an autonomous running function have begun operating in Yoshkar-Ola. The vehicles have already entered the city routes, the administration reports.
Such trolleybuses can operate not only under the contact network, but also without it — thanks to autonomous running they are capable of traveling up to several dozen kilometers, which is especially important on sections where power lines have not yet been installed or where repair work is underway.
The new vehicles meet modern requirements for comfort and accessibility: they are low-floor, equipped with climate control systems, and adapted for transporting passengers with reduced mobility. The delivery of the vehicles is being carried out as part of the urban electric transport renewal program.
