IGLA 93: the first fully Russian hunting rifle from Rostec unveiled

State Corporation "Rostec" has announced the launch of the IGLA 93 hunting rifle on the civilian market — the first model with a full production cycle located within the Russian Federation. The product, created exclusively from domestic components, is positioned as an affordable and technologically advanced replacement for foreign counterparts.

An experimental batch of rifles has already passed testing. The launch of small-scale production is scheduled for Q2 2026. Initially, production will be organized for the cartridge .308 Win (7.62×51), which is already available to hunters in the IGLA brand lineup in three loading variants.

Rostec noted that, for the first time in Russia, a full production cycle for a hunting rifle of this class has been established. According to representatives of the state corporation, the IGLA 93 is not only comparable to imported models in quality, but also surpasses them in a number of technical solutions. In particular, the barrel and bolt are made of stainless steel, which provides increased corrosion resistance — unlike the conventional steels used in foreign counterparts. The barrel bore rifling is made using the single-point cut rifling method, which guarantees high geometric precision and reduces the likelihood of defects. The basic configuration includes a threaded muzzle, a carbon stock with an adjustable cheekpiece, and an adjustable trigger mechanism.

Earlier, Rostec reported the start of serial production of cartridges in the IGLA line for civilian rifled and smoothbore firearms. The .308 Win range was expanded with "SP 150", "Shakal-141", and "Shakal-160" expanding bullets. The nickel-plated brass jacket reduces barrel fouling with copper, maintaining stable accuracy. The bullets demonstrate a predictable expanding effect at an average muzzle velocity of 750 m/s.
