On February 19, the roof collapsed in one of the workshops of the Motorinvest automobile plant. This was announced by the Governor of the Lipetsk Region, Igor Artamonov.
According to the head of the region, the preliminary cause of the roof collapse was the accumulation of snow. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have already pulled 8 people out from under the rubble.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case under Art. 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of labor protection requirements).
The roof collapse occurred in the kitting area of the welding shop (about 1500 sq. m or 10% of the total area). The workshop was scheduled to launch in April 2026. Rescuers continue search and rescue operations. Thermal imagers are used to inspect the building.
Currently, employees found in the collapse zone are conscious and are receiving medical assistance. They and their families will be provided with all the necessary medical and material assistance. The main priority for us is the life and health of people. We will report further developments as new information becomes available.
The company produces Voyah Dream and Free Voyah hybrids, as well as Evolute I-Joy, I-Sky electric vehicles and the I-Space hybrid crossover.
