The Russian S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile system has proven highly effective against modern tactical missiles, including the American ATACMS. This was stated by Alexander Vedrov, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey Concern, at the World Defense Show 2026 international exhibition in Riyadh.
The system has proven its high efficiency in combating modern Western missiles, including American ATACMS. This experience has demonstrated that, in terms of combat effectiveness, the S-400 SAM system significantly outperforms its main foreign competitor, the American Patriot SAM/ABM system.
According to Vedrov, the successful combat use of the S-400 against ATACMS and other Western missiles is well documented during the recent Indo-Pakistani armed conflict. The facts demonstrate the system's excellent capabilities in neutralizing modern high-precision threats.
Vedrov noted that real-world experience shows that the S-400 significantly outperforms its main foreign competitors in its class in terms of effectiveness. The concern is recording growing interest in the system from Middle Eastern countries, but specific states are not being named due to the fierce, often unfair, competition in the market.
The World Defense Show 2026 is taking place in the capital of Saudi Arabia from February 8 to 12 and has become an important platform for demonstrating the achievements of Russian air defense.
