"AGR Kholding" and the Chinese state-owned company Defetoo will create a new automotive brand for the Russian market — the first Jeland models will begin production in the first half of 2026, the holding's press service reported. Tentatively, the new brand will produce Jaecoo J6, J7, and J8 crossovers.
A key feature of the future vehicles, according to their creators, will be their full adaptation to difficult Russian weather conditions. The emphasis will be on resistance to the harsh climate and improved off-road capability. AGR promises that the new product will be created "with a focus on key market segments."
The exact list of models and their specifications has not yet been disclosed. More detailed information, including concepts and prices, will likely be revealed closer to the start of production.
Earlier, media outlets reported that the Russian-localized Jaecoo J7 and J8 crossovers would be renamed Jeland, while TASS, citing sources, claimed that assembly of the Chinese-brand Jaecoo J6, J7, and J8 crossovers had started in St. Petersburg. Later, AGR called the information about the start of car production at the former General Motors plant in Shushary "rumors."
