AvtoVAZ Director for Products and Programs Oleg Grunenkov explained why Lada cars are not produced or supplied to China. According to him, the reason is the protection of their market by Chinese manufacturers.
Grunenkov admitted that in the Celestial Empire there was interest in buying the Lada Niva, but high import duties make importing the vehicle impractical. Joint production of the SUV is also difficult to organize because of high tariffs.
That is why AvtoVAZ will continue to focus on the domestic market.
