Localization of 70% of parts: "Kirovsky Kompressor" launches production of oil-free compressor blocks

The new equipment provides oil-free compression of natural gas, guaranteeing its exceptional purity

The production site of "Kirovsky Kompressor" — a joint venture of PAO "Kirovsky Zavod "Mayak"" (Kalashnikov Concern) and the Agency for Technological Development of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation — has moved to manufacturing its own parts for compressor blocks.

The key technological breakthrough is the mastering of oil-free opposed compressors for automobile gas filling compressor stations (CNG stations). Unlike the oil-based counterparts currently present on the Russian market, the new blocks compress natural gas without the use of lubrication in the compression chamber. This ensures exceptional purity of the fuel at the outlet and eliminates the need for additional gas purification systems to remove oil impurities.

The production cycle has been launched on a new laser metal-cutting machine. By the end of January, the installation of horizontal and vertical milling machining centers is being completed; in February, the delivery of turning centers, universal turning equipment, and surface grinding equipment is expected. In parallel, an infrastructure expansion project is being implemented: a new workshop is being built to accommodate welding and electroplating sections, as well as warehouse areas.

After the completion of commissioning works, the enterprise will ensure the production of more than 70% of the required range of parts in-house. In March 2026, serial production of compressor blocks will begin — three-, four-, and five-stage opposed units.
