Russian Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Marine Board, Nikolai Patrushev, emphasized that the development and implementation of new materials and technologies is a key priority for the development of the Russian shipbuilding industry.
According to him, changes in the geopolitical situation have led to new challenges for the industry, including the need to increase its own competencies in fleet construction and the cessation of supplies of critical materials. This requires the formation of a scientific and technological reserve and an increase in the technical and economic characteristics of domestic materials for shipbuilding.
Patrushev noted that for the successful implementation of new technologies, it is important to develop cooperation between design and engineering organizations, material suppliers, shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises.
The meeting of the scientific and expert council of the Marine Board was held at the Central Research Institute of Structural Materials "Prometey" named after I. V. Gorynin at the Kurchatov Institute. Before the meeting, the Chairman of the Marine Board was shown the results of the institute's work on new materials for shipbuilding.
