Roskomnadzor has not introduced new restrictions on Telegram. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the department on Monday.
Earlier, the media reported a partial blocking of the messenger, due to which users allegedly faced a slowdown in video loading. The agency did not confirm this data.
No new restrictive measures are currently being applied to Telegram
The first deputy chairman of the commission on education and upbringing of the Public Chamber of Russia, Armen Gasparyan, stated that there is no threat of a complete blocking of Telegram in the country. According to him, the management of the messenger is in dialogue with the Russian authorities and is trying to comply with the requirements of the legislation.
The deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on information policy, information technology and communications, Andrei Svintsov, previously noted that the slowdown in Telegram's operation is possible if the platform does not block anonymous channels that spread fake information and engage in fraud. He emphasized that soft measures of influence can be applied to the service if such violations continue.
