By the end of 2026, the cost of car repair and maintenance in Russia will increase by 25%. This was stated by Tatyana Ovchinnikova, director of the international franchise network of Fit Service car services. According to her, the increase in prices for car service services will occur gradually.
By the end of the year, we expect that the total increase in the average cost of repair and maintenance will be 20-25%.
She explained that in 2026, the tax and administrative burden on companies in the field of car services will increase, the high cost of borrowed funds will remain, and the fixed costs of business will increase. These factors will force entrepreneurs to compensate for their costs, which will directly affect prices for consumers.
Given that most car owners are not planning to purchase new cars in 2026, the average age of cars will continue to increase. This will lead to an increase in demand for complex and major repairs of components, engines and suspension, which, in turn, will increase both the average check and labor costs.
