A UTair aircraft, en route from Dubai to Moscow, was temporarily suspended from flights after returning to the departure airport due to technical reasons. A reserve aircraft was scheduled to arrive as a replacement.
According to preliminary information, on January 8, 2026, the aircraft operating flight UT716 returned to Dubai due to a technical reason. It was left for technical inspection. The Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office is monitoring compliance with flight safety standards.
The UTair plane, operating flight UTA716, issued a distress signal and circled over the Persian Gulf for almost two hours to reduce fuel levels before successfully landing at Al Maktoum Airport.
The airline stated that the plane was preparing to land according to standard procedure. The crew, acting in the interests of safety, decided to return to the airport. Later, Rostransnadzor clarified that the reason for the return was vibration of the power plant.
