State of Emergency on the Railway in the Krasnodar Territory: What is Happening Now?

More than 1000 employees and special equipment are involved in restoring traffic after abnormal snowfalls

Following the abnormal snowfalls that hit the Krasnodar Territory, large-scale work is underway on the region's railway infrastructure to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Railway employees, drawn from various departments, together with specialized equipment, are clearing tracks from snow drifts, the height of which in some places reached 1.5 meters.

Under the state of emergency imposed in the region, it was possible to partially restore power supply to the contact network, which allowed resuming passenger train traffic according to a temporary scheme. Currently, specialists continue to work on fully stabilizing the infrastructure and returning trains to the schedule.

Passengers facing delays are provided with comfortable waiting conditions: business lounges and areas of increased comfort are open at key stations — including Rostov-Glavny, Krasnodar-1, Sochi and Adler. Catering points are organized, drinking water is provided, and continuous information is provided about the current situation and changes in the schedule.

Representatives of the railway industry emphasized that all possible measures are being taken to restore regular train traffic as soon as possible and minimize inconvenience to passengers.
