The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket has launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. This was reported by Roscosmos press service.
The main goal of the launch is to put two Aist-2T satellites into orbit, which will be delivered within an hour after the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket. Following them, 50 small spacecraft launched as a secondary payload will enter orbit.
Aist-2T satellites No. 1 and No. 2 are designed for remote sensing of the Earth. With their help, it is planned to obtain stereoscopic images of the planet's surface, which will help create high-precision digital 3D models of the area. The satellites are expected to operate in orbit for at least five years.
Among the satellites, there are also Zorkiy-2M leasing vehicles from GTLK. This satellite is also designed for Earth observation. They will be used in the interests of agriculture and forestry, cartography and emergency monitoring.
