The company "Burlak All-Terrain Vehicles" has developed a new two-axle trailer to increase the carrying capacity of snow and swamp vehicles from 1.5 to 2.5 tons. The vehicles are designed to operate in Arctic and Antarctic conditions, the company's press service reported.
Unique solutions include the introduction of a balance suspension and the development of an inertia brake, which ensures safety on difficult routes and allows increasing the trailer's carrying capacity to 2.5 tons.
All-terrain vehicles on low-pressure tires are limited in weight. At the same time, increasing the load negatively affects the vehicle's cross-country ability and increases pressure on the ground.
Therefore, transportation efficiency was achieved by optimizing the trailer's design without increasing the weight of the vehicle itself.
It is expected that the introduction of the new development will reduce the cost of cargo transportation in remote areas, reduce the number of trips, and increase the volume of cargo per pass.
The total cost of the project amounted to 4.6 million. It was implemented in collaboration with the South Ural and Kurgan State Universities.
