Roscosmos Develops Unique "Aktiv-2" Prostheses with Microprocessor Control

The devices will help restore mobility and improve the quality of life after amputations

In Russia, it is planned to create high-tech prostheses with a knee module with microprocessor control for people with amputated lower limbs. The issue of developing and mass-producing such devices became key at a meeting between Roscosmos management and representatives of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The "Aktiv-2" prostheses with microprocessor control allow restoring mobility and improving the quality of life after amputations, providing more natural movements and comfort when walking. Their implementation will help veterans adapt more easily to everyday life and actively participate in social and labor activities.

It is noted that enterprises of the military-industrial complex can develop a civilian direction, including the production of medical and rehabilitation products.

Roscosmos is already creating innovative solutions for a comfortable and active life for people with amputated lower limbs. The implementation of the "Aktiv-2" project will accelerate the introduction of high-tech prostheses on the domestic market and improve the quality of rehabilitation for those in need.
