«Ростех» показал, как печатают российские протезы на 3D-принтере

The device is used for prototyping products in general and creating their individual parts

MPO Metallist of the Rostec State Corporation showed how modern 3D printing technology works in the production of prostheses. One of the main areas of application of such printers is prototyping prosthetic and orthopedic products so that they are both aesthetically pleasing and convenient for their owners.

Such a prototype allows designers to show the product to potential users and customers, and, upon request from their side, edit it in advance. The 3D model helps to quickly and accurately produce the desired model.

But additive technologies help not only in prototyping. In general, MPO Metallist produces more than a thousand products: these are not only prostheses, but also parts for them, and tools. And the 3D printer helps to speed up the manufacture of rubber parts, metal parts and assemblies, as well as print expendable wax models for foundry production.
