The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) may send a Superjet aircraft with foreign components to India for production. This was reported by a Business Online source in the aviation industry.
According to his information, it is specifically about the Sukhoi Superjet 100 series. The idea is that the aircraft with non-import-substituted onboard systems should become a "sanction-free" aircraft.
It can be concluded that the SJ-100s produced by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KnAAZ) will initially only go to the domestic market to meet the needs of carriers.
As a reminder, at the end of October, UAC signed a memorandum on the production of civil aircraft with the Indian corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, but back then the discussion was specifically about the SJ-100.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to "Pervyi Technicheskiy" that India will take at least five years to master the SJ-100 with the PD-8. This requires creating entire production facilities and training qualified personnel.
Also, the head of UAC, Vadim Badeha, explained that one of the goals of cooperation with the Indian side is reverse deliveries of components for "Superjets" to the Russian market.
