Public figures proposed replacing paper passports with electronic ones

Deputy Secretary of the RF Public Chamber called the paper passport an anachronism

Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber (OP) Vladislav Grib expressed the opinion on the need to replace paper passports with electronic cards that will contain complete data about the citizen. According to him, such a document should include data on full name, health status, family composition and supported benefits.

I believe that a paper passport is already an anachronism. Each of us should have an electronic card where all the data will be entered, not only the name and surname, TIN or blood type and military ID, but all marks on health status, information about all benefits and family members.
Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation

According to him, in the era of ubiquitous digitalization, paper passports have lost their relevance, and all information about a person should be presented in electronic form, which eliminates the need to carry many documents with you.

I have a certificate of a large family, a military ID - all this will not need to be carried with you, but with the help of a QR code you can instantly find out all the necessary data.
