The Russian Boomerang FPV drone has received enhanced functionality, which allows it to be used not only as a kamikaze, but also for reconnaissance, mining and cargo delivery. This was announced by a serviceman of a special unit of the Russian army.
FPV-drone "Boomerang" is now not just a kamikaze drone, as we are used to calling them. Now it is also for reconnaissance and mining. The main element of destruction is manpower, armored vehicles.
According to the fighter, one Boomerang is capable of replacing up to ten conventional drones thanks to the target hold assist (THA) option, which ensures that the device reaches the target even in conditions of intense electronic warfare. He noted that even when the video signal and control channels are suppressed, a drone with the THA function enabled is able to complete the mission.
The serviceman also emphasized that the functionality of the drone-miner and drone-bomber significantly reduces the consumption of drones, since one device can perform up to 30–40 sorties.
It is noted that the Boomerang has become a universal tool for reducing risks for military personnel, as it helps to deliver various cargoes to the front lines - from provisions to ammunition.
