VR simulator for election observers presented in Moscow

With its help, the user will learn about working at a polling station

Specialists from the Department of Personnel Services of the Moscow Government have developed a VR simulator (Virtual Reality) to simulate work on election day at a polling station. It was shown at the All-Russian Congress of Observers in Moscow.

The VR simulator will help prepare public observers for the elections. Wearing virtual reality glasses, the user sees:

  • voting booths
  • electronic voting terminals
  • registration areas

Observers are introduced to all procedures and the order of actions on election day. The simulator is designed for basic scenarios when the electoral process proceeds without violations.

Since 2023, the development has been used to train observers in Moscow. It is possible that the project may be scaled to other regions.
