«Суровые» законы помогли: утечек данных россиян стало меньше

Senator Sheikin: It is necessary to develop new measures to protect information

The number of personal data leaks of Russians has decreased significantly due to the adoption of measures to protect them. This was stated by Artyom Sheikin, Deputy Head of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council.

According to the senator, Russia has adopted many “harsh” laws. In particular, the authorities introduced criminal liability for the illegal collection and distribution of confidential data, as well as administrative liability for companies processing them.

If earlier some company was hacked every day, and we said that some data was leaked, today this has become much less.

At the same time, Sheikin is sure that new information protection measures need to be developed. This would help prevent the “leak” of personal data of children and young people, he concluded.
