The Russian company "Communication Platform" (a VK subsidiary) has introduced a version of the Max messenger for devices running under the "Aurora" operating system (developer - "Open Mobile Platform"). The application can be downloaded from the RuStore digital store, the company's press service reported.
"Aurora" is an OS around which a mobile infrastructure resistant to sanction risks is being built. It is used by employees of large Russian companies, including JSC "Russian Railways", "Aeroflot", "Rostelecom" and "Russian Post".
The management of "Open Mobile Platform" believes that the appearance of the Max version for "Aurora" will help create an independent digital ecosystem. As of February 2025, the number of devices on this OS reached 500 thousand.
About Max Messenger
The application appeared in March 2025. In addition to sending messages and making calls, it implements additional functions, including identity verification, obtaining electronic government services and making payments.
By mid-November 2025, the number of Max users exceeded 55 million people. More than 16 thousand authors, including media and press services of ministries, have created channels in the application.
