The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of the Rostec Group) announced a noticeable increase in the interest of foreign customers in the Verba man-portable air defense system (MANPADS). The increase in demand is due to the modernization of the complex and its combat effectiveness in real conditions.
The company noted that foreign buyers are actively exploring the capabilities of MANPADS. At the same time, interest from abroad has always been high, but has increased even more in recent years.
The modernization of MANPADS continues - engineers are introducing improvements that increase ease of use, expand technical capabilities and application options.
Verba missiles have also begun to be used from various carriers, including helicopters. The launch zone for drones, a key threat in recent years, has increased.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the Verba MANPADS:
- Range of action - 500–6400 m
- Altitude of destruction - 10–4500 m
- Maximum target speed (head-on) - 400 m/s
- Maximum target speed (pursuit course) - 320 m/s
- Mass of combat equipment - 17.25 kg
- Rocket caliber - 72 mm
As a reminder, the Verba MANPADS is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and cruise missiles, including in conditions of strong optical interference. The complex was created according to the "fire and forget" principle.
