Russia continues to work on creating new, more effective ammunition. Modifications of aerial bombs with a range of up to 400 km are in development.
The creation of this type of weapon will allow the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia to strike without the use of missile weapons.
Preliminary, it is possible to achieve the mentioned flight range of the ammunition with the help of jet boosters. Thanks to them, an inexpensive version of a long-range hybrid of an aerial bomb and an operational-tactical missile will appear.
Currently, the application distance of the unified interspecific gliding bomb (UMPB) D-30SN is about 120-130 km. The new projectile will require the development of a massive jet booster, a universal planning and correction module (UMPC) with improved aerodynamics, and refinement of the guidance system.
If all the nuances can be resolved, then Russia will receive an aviation ammunition that significantly exceeds the American GLSDB in terms of characteristics.
