MTS has offered subscribers a service that allows them to install mini base stations (compact LTE mobile communication equipment) in areas with weak signals. This includes the upper floors of high-rise buildings, basements, and buildings with shielding structures, the telecom company's press service reported.
The volume of the Russian market for communication improvement systems may reach 15.5 billion rubles by the end of 2025. By 2027, it will increase to 18.2 billion rubles, according to MTS.
This is due to urbanization, increased building density, and the development of the Internet of Things: smart devices in apartments and offices require a stable indoor signal for uninterrupted operation.
Key features of the mini base station from MTS:
- Wired internet connection with a speed of 50 Mbps or more
- Coverage within a radius of up to 50 m
- Service for up to 32 subscribers
